Brenda Joyce Cupit Ryden, 41, of Natchez, Mississippi, was born February 13, 1960, and passed away February 24, 2001. She was laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Natchez, in the Garden of Good Shepherd 3. Her marker remembers her as a beloved wife and mother. She was the mother of Zachary Tyler Ryden.

Bryan Allen “Booty” Morgan, 51, of Winnsboro, Louisiana, passed away July 19, 2022. He was born September 14, 1970. Bryan Howard Callaway, 60, died February 28, 2025. A South Natchez graduate, attorney, and longtime public servant, he was known for his wit, generosity, and devotion to family. Clifton Glen Arnold (1963–2021) was born in Natchez and attended South Natchez High School. He served in the Army Reserves in Kuwait, trained as an EMS/EMT medic, and later owned a construction and renovation business. He enjoyed camping, fishing, kayaking, and playing guitar. He was buried at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Reportedly died in a bicycle accident in Adams County on October 9, 2022. Obituary, burial location, and Find a Grave memorial have not yet been located.

Marjorie Dawn Perry (Nov. 4, 1964–July 17, 2015) was born in Natchez to Tom Fore and Carmen Doughty Fore. She was a member of Church Hill United Methodist Church and taught first and third grade at ACCS for 15 years. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the Homochitto River. She was survived by her husband, Gus Ericson Perry; sons Gus Perry Jr. and Christopher Perry; two grandchildren; her father and stepfather; several siblings; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, sister Valerie Fore Givens, and other relatives. Funeral services were held July 20, 2015, at Laird Funeral Home Chapel, followed by burial at Natchez City Cemetery.

Donald Edward Killelea Jr., 47, of Natchez, passed away May 8, 2010, at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson. Born September 20, 1962, he was the son of Dr. Donald Edward Killelea and Katherine Killelea. He was survived by his wife, Amy; daughter, Sophia Grace; his mother; five sisters; one brother; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. Jack Hendrix McLemore Jr. (1953–2016) was a lifelong Vidalia resident, retired attorney, and longtime Vidalia town attorney. An LSU graduate, he was active in numerous civic organizations and was honored as Male Concordian of the Year. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, golf, and sports and helped guide both sons to become Eagle Scouts.

Jean Lehmann Pates Rummel (1954–2015) was a Natchez native, beloved speech pathologist, and gifted singer known for her strong faith, warm humor, and ability to make friends wherever she went. She performed with the Pates Family Band and was an active member of Wells United Methodist Church.

Jennifer Dale Steckler, 32, of Natchez, passed away November 6, 2007, at Natchez Regional Medical Center. Born March 11, 1975, she graduated from Cathedral School in 1993 and earned a degree in International Business from Mississippi State University, where she was active in student leadership and was named Miss Mississippi State University in 1996. She later earned a master’s degree in Economic Development from the University of Southern Mississippi and held positions in finance, human resources, organizational development, and economic development. Jennifer was remembered for her strong involvement in school, church, community service, and professional life. Funeral Mass was held November 9, 2007, at St. Mary Basilica, followed by burial at Natchez City Cemetery. Graduated from Cathedral School in 1993. May have attended South Natchez–Adams High School previously; not confirmed. Included because of her close connection to the SNAHS community and family.

Jennifer Matlock Smith (May 14, 1968–June 16, 2016) was born in Memphis, Tennessee, and lived in Bogue Chitto, Mississippi. She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church. She was survived by her husband, Doyle C. Smith; daughters Hailey Smith Barnett and Ashton Elizabeth Staeden; her mother, Joyce Hunt Matlock; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Matlock, and her brother, Michael Shawn Matlock. Funeral services were held June 20, 2016, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service, followed by burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Natchez.

Jere Lee Ferrill, Jr., 51, formerly of Natchez and a member of the South Natchez–Adams High School Class of 1983, passed away June 15, 2016, in an aircraft accident near Creede, Colorado. Born August 28, 1964, he was the son of Jere Lee “Shug” Ferrill and Betty Jo “B.J.” Ferrill. Jere was a commercial pilot and was flying an aerial-survey mission when the aircraft crashed while attempting to reach the Creede airport. He was residing in Castle Rock, Colorado, at the time of his death. His final burial or disposition has not yet been confirmed.

Jerry “Kevin” Spears, 46, of Brandon, died May 16, 2009, at his residence. Born February 14, 1963, in Carthage, he was the son of Jerry K. Spears and Becky Moore Spears. He was a member of Trace City Baptist Church and worked for W.W.L. Holdings at Nissan. He was survived by his wife, Melissa Boyette Spears; daughters Amanda, Dacia, and Jenna Spears; a granddaughter, Melaina Spears; his parents; three sisters; a brother; and several nieces and nephews. Services were held at Laird Funeral Home with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Kevin was remembered as a Christian man who touched many lives through his faith and the way he lived.

Joseph William "Joe" Amacker died at age 17 after a drowning accident at Lake Concordia, Louisiana, on May 24, 1975, when he was pulled from a boat by the ski rope of a passing boat. Friends attempted several rescue dives but were unable to save him. A standout student and leader at South Natchez High School, he served as senior class president, was recognized as the school's first honor graduate, was named Mr. South Natchez, and was active in the Key Club, Mayor's Youth Council, and Methodist Youth Council. Funeral services were held at Jefferson Street Methodist Church, with burial at Natchez City Cemetery.

Karan DeLynne Fauver, 50, of Wilmer, Alabama, passed away on May 14, 2018. Born August 18, 1967, in Louisiana, she was the daughter of John Fauver and Carol Smith Fauver. Khristie worked as a lab technician with Infinity Health Group at Southwest Mental Health Complex and was an active member of Hopewell Baptist Church. She was remembered for her compassion, pleasant spirit, and devotion to her family, church, and those in need. She was survived by her two children, Savannah and Colten Nugent, her parents, and her brother, Bryan Rollins. Services were held at Franklin Funeral Home, with burial at Midway Cemetery in Meadville, Mississippi.

Kim Gray Hodges (1969–2011) was born in Natchez and earned both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Education from the University of Southern Mississippi. She worked as a school counselor in the Jackson and Hinds County public school systems. She was the mother of one son and was buried at Natchez City Cemetery.

LaDine Brady Washington (Sept. 6, 1961–Nov. 6, 2016) was a 1979 graduate of South Natchez High School and a 1983 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi. She was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Natchez Alumnae Chapter, and enjoyed singing, dancing, traveling, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. She was survived by her husband, Francis Washington; daughter, Courtney; son, Damian; her mother, Mary Brady; and extended family. Michael Anthony Wiggins, 57, of Natchez, Mississippi, passed away on May 14, 2025, after a three-year battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Born January 17, 1968, he worked as an SBA underwriter and was admired for his intelligence, integrity, humor, and determination. He enjoyed fine watches, bourbon, travel, sea turtles, and living life boldly. Even through 72 rounds of chemotherapy, Michael remained courageous and focused on making meaningful memories. He is survived by his wife, Jaime Danis Wiggins; sister, Sherrie Loffler; brother-in-law, Ivan Loffler; nephew, Will Loffler; and many cousins.

She was remembered as a devoted mother, successful businesswoman, and free-spirited person known for her humor, kindness, and love of family and friends. Ronnie A. Childers, 41, of Natchez, died May 9, 2004. Born April 6, 1963, in Natchez, he was the son of Aaron W. and Majorie Childers and was a Baptist. He was survived by his wife, Shelia D. Childers; daughters Lindsey and Courtney Childers; two stepsons; his parents and stepfather; several sisters; his brother, Keith Childers; and his grandparents. Services were held at Laird Funeral Home with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Ronald Stephen “Steve” Kelly, 43, formerly of Natchez, died May 26, 2002, in Jackson. Born September 8, 1958, in Natchez, he was a retired corporal with the Mississippi Army National Guard’s 20th Special Forces Group. A 1990 training accident at Grenada Lake left him paralyzed and ventilator-dependent. He was survived by his son, parents, sister, stepbrothers, nieces, nephew, and extended family. Services were held with full military honors, followed by burial at Natchez National Cemetery.

Sandra Lynn Schilling Parks, 50, died November 9, 2020. A 1989 graduate of South Natchez High School, she was a member of the Colonel’s Ladies dance team and performed in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. She earned a degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and had a long career with the Mississippi Department of Mental Health, ultimately serving as Bureau Director for Certification & Quality Outcomes. Sandra was known for her generosity, charitable service, blood donation, animal rescue, and commitment to helping others. Following a severe stroke and brain hemorrhage, she became an organ donor. She was survived by her husband, William Parks, their children, Travis and Haley, and extended family. She was laid to rest at Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery in Madison, Mississippi.

Died March 28, 2013, following a four-year battle with cancer. Born in Natchez; resident of Bay St. Louis at the time of death. Burial was private.

Sharon “Sherry” McCoy, 58, died after a battle with cancer. A 1984 South Natchez–Adams graduate, she returned to Natchez to raise her children and spent her later years with her daughter and grandson. She is survived by her daughter, grandson, siblings, nieces, nephews, and extended family. A memorial service was held March 8, 2025, at Redemption Church, followed by burial at Taylor Family Cemetery.

Sharon Peterson Masse passed away on December 4, 2024, at age 54, surrounded by family after battling incurable cancer. She graduated from South Natchez–Adams High School, earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from William Carey University and a master’s degree in International Global Finance from Thunderbird School of Global Management, and spent much of her career in Denver, Colorado, and Irvine, California. She was remembered as adventurous, successful, witty, strong, and full of life. Sharon traveled widely, pursued her goals, and faced illness with dignity, humor, and determination. She was survived by her husband, Edward “Ed” Masse; sons John Wesley Griffey, Dustin Fairchild, and Christian Kellum; granddaughters Brylee and Kynlee Fairchild; her mother, Rebecca Reeves; siblings Cheryl Peterson, John Peterson, and Benajah Peterson; and numerous nieces, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She especially cherished being called “Cece” by her family. She was preceded in death by her father, John Peterson of Natchez. Visitation was scheduled for December 21, 2024, at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday, Louisiana, followed by burial on Cannonsburg Road in Natchez. A celebration of life was planned for January 1–2 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Thomas E. “Tommy” Sanders (1955–2015) was born in Natchez and founded Sanders Collision for his sons, Jay and Jeremy. He was remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and dog owner. He was buried at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Travis E. Freeman, 55, of Natchez, died November 7, 2022. A former South Natchez baseball player, he enjoyed golf, softball, and Alabama football. He is survived by his wife, children, siblings, and extended family. Services were held November 12 at Cliff Temple Baptist Church, with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Viviann Elizabeth Coley Taylor, 58, of Natchez, passed away April 14, 2020, at Merit Health Natchez. Born August 11, 1961, she was a longtime church pianist and organist, Sunday school teacher, and member of the Gideon International Auxiliary. Graveside services were held April 23, 2020, at Taylor Family Cemetery, where burial followed.

Walter “Wade” Thornton, 57, of Natchez, died June 22, 2024. A 1984 South Natchez graduate, he was known for his humor, love of music, hunting, mud riding, and time spent with family and friends. He is survived by his mother, children, siblings, granddaughter, and extended family. Graveside services were held June 28, 2024, at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
